The story opens in the third year of Queen Feliana’s reign. Three years after a disaster forced them to leave, the Detective returns to Silvernia to find out what really happened to a loved one: their sibling.
At the start you choose who you are, Muninn or Huginn. According to community coverage of the betas, the sibling you do not choose is the one who died.
